Every summer, our San Diego Summer Comedy Camp invites teens to dive into the world of improv and sketch comedy. Under the guidance of professional improv actors, campers learn performance fundamentals, storytelling, teamwork, and stage presence — all while building confidence and having fun.
By the end of the session, campers create and perform their own original comedy show for invited friends and family at the National Comedy Theatre. It’s a unique opportunity for teens to express themselves, step outside their comfort zone, and develop skills that extend beyond the stage.

Among the many summer camps in San Diego, National Comedy Theatre’s camp stands out as a creative alternative to traditional sports or academic programs. It’s especially ideal for teens interested in performance, confidence-building, and teamwork.
This camp is for teens ages 13–18, designed to help them learn improv, sketch writing, and performance skills in a supportive environment.
Unfortunately, we have to have an age cut-off, and it’s firm at age 13. We do typically have kids 15-18 in the class, and it’s difficult to mix them with pre-teens.

We’re located right in between Little Italy and Old Town, so we’re right in the middle of San Diego.
Nope! All experience levels are welcome. A great many of our teens have never been on stage before.
Yes! The teens perform a show for invited family and friends on the last day of camp. It’s a super fun performance that they have crafted throughout the two week camp sessions.
